Two New Stories at Reactor and Bourbon Penn

“Shorted,” at Reactor. This one started as a thought experiment: “What if people got royalties for corporate use of their data, and that became a Universal Basic Income?”

Great idea, right? Unless it results in the further commodification of human beings, which, well, read the story. (And how about that art by Erin Jia?)

“Employee of the Month,” at Bourbon Penn. Sometimes I do something like write a 10,000-word horror story about violence and complicity…with nothing supernatural in it. Then I say to myself, man, where could I possibly publish this? That, friends, is what magazines like Bourbon Penn are for: The unusual, the risky, the raw. It’s what a weird literary magazine should be. Subscribe!

While you’re at these two fine venues, you can read my previous stories they’ve published: “Black Friday” and “Form 8774-D” at Reactor, and “The Demon Lord of Broken Concrete” at Bourbon Penn.

As always, thanks for reading!
